Junk is a new clearance removal service based in the States. As part of the brand development, Marketwake commissioned us to create a suite of illustrations to promote the service and communicate how it helps families get rid of all their unwanted clutter, through clearance and recycling.
Unlike many house clearances, Junk partners with removal companies that practice sustainable disposal and recycling. It was important we made this central to the visual language, as seen in the hero illustration. This not only welcomes visitors to the site, but is designed to be vertically split to accommodate both desktop and mobile formats.
The illustration style is deliberately simple to allow complex scenes and environments to shine. But it also brings a lightness to the brand and portrays its human-centred values. The hand-drawn lines and pencil textures help soften the illustrations against the minimal backgrounds.
